What is Get Set Learn?

Get Set Learn aims to bridge the digital divide in education in India. It supported uninterrupted learning for thousands of government school children during the pandemic, providing digital tablets equipped with internet connectivity. The tablets enable access to learning apps and platforms and are accompanied by sessions on safe digital usage. Alongside, Sidhant’s Get Set Read initiative with story videos works to improve reading literacy and access to books for under-resourced children.

Founded by Sidhant Sharma in 2019, when he was a grade 9 student, in collaboration with Yuva Unstoppable, a reputed non-government organization founded by Amitabh Shah that works in thousands of government schools across the country, Get Set Learn’s digital initiative has directly impacted close to 10,000 students. On a shared basis, access extends to 100,000 children as the tablets come back to form digital classrooms in schools.

    Stories in Hindi and English as story videos with read-alouds, created by Sidhant and other students. Stories sourced from leading Indian publisher, Pratham Books.     Where does a story originate? How does a book come together? Sidhant speaks to editors, art directors and authors: Listen to their journey and hear authors read out their own stories! Share the links with children with limited access to speakers and you might inspire a child to write!

  • Reading Contests

    Get Set Read ran contests to ascertain story comprehension and invite students to reflect on changes during the pandemic. Winners were cross-supported by Get Set Learn with Wi-Fi enabled digital tablets. Story videos had a reach of close to 300,000.

  • Get Set Learn Outreach

    Identified academically inclined students in govt schools who were unable to access online classes and distributed WiFi enabled tablets through COVID. Re-routed used but working conditions laptops from corporates to students. Conducted impact studies and visited students for feedback. Over 10K and counting!

    Fundraising campaign in 2020 to support and empower thousands of children. Raised close to INR 10 million in the first phase, and now almost INR 100 million . Coordination with YUVA Unstoppable to source and distribute now close to 10,000 digital tablets. 70% go to girls. Attendance up three fold. Av grades in Eng. Math, Science up from 45% to 70%
